Seeking Principal for the 2025-2026 school termSturgeon Lake School requires a conscientious, motivated and career-minded School Principal for the 2025-2026 school year to be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the school; ensuring that policies, regulations and procedures are observed and that all students are provided with a safe and welcoming learning environment.The School Principal will work with all school staff to provide leadership regarding the school's curriculum, financial and procedural administration, scheduling, extracurricular activities and emergency operations. The Principal will also serve as a role model and assist staff and students with achieving an optimal educational experience.Qualifications: - Proven record of effective leadership and school-based administrator - Ability to work with school/community partnerships - Demonstrated focus on achievement for all students - Excellent internal and external communication skills - Commitment to using technology to enhance student learning - Collaborative decision making Requirements: Currently holding a valid Masters Degree in education or enrolled and working towards completion of this degree would be considered an asset. Recent school administration experience/financial background and study in eductional administration are definite assets for success in this role. Sturgeon Lake School is located 15 minutes west of Valleyview, Alberta on the Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation. The successful applicant will have some formal training or post-secondary courses that prove their leadership scholarship and curricular and pedagogical knowledge. Recent school administration experience and/or alternative leadership experience will be strongly considered. Ability and experience in managing budgets and finances.
