Nunavut schools are currently focused on improving literacy outcomes for all students and ensuring students’ learning experiences are culturally relevant and respectful.Located in the picturesque hamlet of Kugluktuk, Kugluktuk High School serves the community of Kugluktuk. The school has a population of approximately 255 students in a 7-12 setting with a staff of 29. The school and community are steeped in a rich history of Inuit culture.Required qualifications:Bachelor of Education degree (Special Education Certificate/degree or equivalent courses)Teaching certification acceptable for Nunavut Teaching CertificateA minimum of three years teaching experienceExperience supervising staff (student support assistants) in programs supporting profound needsExperience developing and implementing individual student support and behaviour plans in cooperation with classroom teachersDesired qualifications:Minimum of three years in the role of Special education/student support teacherExperience in collaborative support to students in the effective implementation of formative assessment and differentiated instructionPositive school environment approaches to classroom management (eg.
