The successful candidate will be a dynamic, collaborative, inspirational, tech-savvy educator with experience working with students who have diagnosed learning differences and who is looking to become a part of a vibrant teaching and learning community. This is a Temporary Contract position for the 2025-26 school year that starts as soon as possible, with the possibility of extension into a continuing role.ResponsibilitiesDeliver the curriculum as per the BC Ministry requirementsDifferentiate lessons to meet the needs of all students while creating a rigorous, positive and inclusive learning environmentMotivated to learn and improve teaching practice with an emphasis on personal and social development, critical and creative thinking skills, communication and effective assessmentCollaborate and teach with other members of faculty within the grade team and school to create innovative lessons and units that embrace the universal design for learning frameworkBuild collaborative and effective relationships with students, staff, parents and the communityOversee the development of individualized student learning plans, including tracking and monitoring student progressRequired qualificationsBachelor of Education with experience and training in teaching students with learning differencesMaster’s Degree or specific course work in Special EducationKnowledge of differentiated learning approaches and current practices in Inclusive EducationUnderstanding of foundational literacy and numeracy skill developmentFamiliar with the BC curriculumExperience contributing to the writing of IEP goalsExcellent interpersonal skills including a positive and proactive approachA passion for ongoing learning and professional developmentExceptional teaching skills, with a creative approach to support children’s participation and active engagement in the classroomBC Teaching CertificationBasic First AidCanadian residency and legally entitled to work in CanadaOur “Must Haves”Respect, dignity and inclusion for all members of the communityCollaborative mind-set and courageous approach to adversityDemonstrated communications skills (oral and written)Creative “out-of-the-box” thinkerFlexible and adaptable and embraces changeProven work ethic with utmost integrityEnthusiasm, eagerness and genuine interest in all aspects of the school’s successSelf-awareness, with a desire for constant self-improvement (goal-oriented)We offer professional development opportunities, competitive salaries, a generous benefits package, an Employee and Family Assistance Plan and health and wellness initiatives, along with one of the most beautiful locations in Canada to work!The current 2025-26 faculty grid annual salary range for this position is $75,322 to $112,169 based on years of experience and a Bachelor of Education.
