We are committed to integrating traditional teachings, cultural values, and modern education to foster student growth and well-being. Position Overview:We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Physical Education Teacher to inspire and engage students from Kindergarten to Grade 9 in physical fitness, wellness, and sportsmanship. The ideal candidate will foster a love for physical activity and wellness through culturally responsive and inclusive teaching practices. Key Responsibilities:Develop and deliver age-appropriate physical education lessons that encourage physical activity, teamwork, and the development of motor skills.Incorporate Indigenous cultural values and teachings into physical education programs, promoting respect for Dakota Language and Culture.Foster a supportive and inclusive environment that encourages student participation and celebrates diversity.Assess and document student progress and provide feedback to students and families.Collaborate with other teachers, staff, and community members to support student well-being and promote an active school community.Participate in school events, professional development, and community activities as required. Qualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Education with a minor in Physical Education/ Kinesiology would be an assetValid teaching certification or eligibility for certification in Saskatchewan.Experience working with Indigenous communities or a strong willingness to learn about and integrate Indigenous cultures into teaching.Knowledge of and commitment to culturally responsive pedagogy.Strong organizational and communication skills.Ability to adapt lessons to suit a wide range of ages and physical abilities.
