Certified Elementary Teachers

As-Sadiq Islamic School (OASIS) is a faith based community school that follows the Islamic Shia Ithna Asheri School of thought. The school has been in operation for 30 years and is home to more than 750 students ranging from a toddler program up to Grade 12. The school has a rich heritage of providing excellent education in an Islamic environment.  We are currently seeking certified teachers for full time, long term ocsasional positions. Requirements1)     Fluency in English with excellent communication skills.2)     A warm, nurturing demeanour and a positive attitude.  3)     Ability to engage effectively with children and youth, serving as a positive role model. 4)    Flexibility and the ability to work independently. 5)    Reliablity, punctuality and strong organizational skills6)    Have excellent Strong classroom management skills that promote a positive and productive learning environment.7)    Ability to perform the duties of a teacher as outlined in the Education Act of Ontario.§  Planning lessons in accordance with current pegagogical practices in Ontario. §  Managing homework, assessment and classroom structure using appropriate learning management systems.§  Assessing and evaluating student progress in alignment with the Growing Success Document.§  Involve parents as part of a school learning community and keep constant communication with the parents. 8)    Must be familiar and comfortable in working with 21st Century technology and software applications relevant for children in this age group.9)    Must be able to communicate with the office admin, staff and perform other duties from time to time as assigned by the principal. 10)  Must have a current Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS) by local police.
