EXPERIENCE THE PRISTINE WILDERNESS AND ENJOY WHAT IT OFFERS. Kasabonika Lake First Nation is a remote fly-in only First Nations community, Sineonokway Education Authority invites you to a challenge of working to make a difference in a child’s life, education and social well-being.Chief Simeon Mckay Education Center and Kasabonika Lake High School are located Kasabonika Lake First Nation. The community population is about 1200 people, with many support systems in place. There is a northern store, nursing station, and a police station.The student population is about 400 students from kindergarten to grade 12. There are 30 staff always ready to help each other and give support to those who are new in the community. The community offers many activities. The schools provide many extra-curricular activities to support social growth and learning for students.Sineonokway Education Authority invites applications for the following position at Chief Simeon McKay Education Center  Grade 5 Teacher at Chief Simeon Mckay Education Center This class needs you as an inspiring educator, to lead them through their challenges and accept their weaknesses and build upon them to develop learners that will continue to be inspired by the love of learning and success. Come and work with this class, as you never know, you could be the person who will improve and make a difference in a child’s life.Ksasbonika Lake schools offer Kindergarten to grade 12 programs based on Kwayaciiwin curriculum guidelines (bilingual & cultural relevant) and Ministry of Education Ontario guidelines. The enrolment of the school’s ranges from 200-235 students in the elementary level and 100-135 students in the high school.Candidates must be a member and in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers or eligible for membership.Previous work experience in a northern First Nations setting is a definite asset.We encourage educators and teachers who are seeking new challenges to make a difference to the First Nations children who are struggling with life and learning to apply for the teaching position. We encourage the new teacher graduates who need an opportunity to initiate their teaching career to apply for the positions and we will seriously consider your application. Kasabonika Lake First Nation is located in the far northern country with vast natural environment and landscape. The landscape scopes the pristine environment and abundant wildlife experiences.
