ASSISTANT TEACHER AND RECESS SUPERVISOR (Middle and Senior Schools)

Joining CFIS means becoming part of a dynamic team of passionate professionals who are committed to excellence in education. Position Description:      CFIS is seeking candidates for an Assistant Teacher and Recess Supervisor position in our for the 2025-26 school year.  Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:Assist in the implementation of English oral and literacy support.Assist in the implementation of the daily program and instructional activities.Work with children individually or in small groups to develop knowledge, skills, and competencies.Participate in maintaining a safe, clean, welcoming and inclusive classroom environment.Supervise playground, hallway and cafeteria supervision at lunch recesses.Supervise cross-walks and parking areas during drop-off and pick-up.Maintain professional attitudes.Participate in professional workshops or courses.Maintain confidentiality about children, their families, and other employees inside and outside of the school.Other duties as needed. The shift for this position is 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Mondays-Fridays. Qualifications:Level 1 Child Care Assistant or equivalent.Fluent spoken English is required.Valid first-aid certification (or willingness to obtain). Prior experience with children is desirable. The successful applicant will need to provide a recent Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening prior to commencing work. Skills, Technical and Behavioural Competencies Required:Awareness of best practices in French immersion education.Sensitivity to neurodiversity among children.Sensitivity to the needs and feelings of others.Warm, friendly, positive personality.Ability to relate well to children and colleagues.Exemplary communication skills.Professionalism in dealing with all stakeholders.Interpersonal skills that foster collegiality and blend with CFIS’s values.Commitment to continuous learning and growth.Proactivity in initiating support and assistance for students. Compensation:The position will be paid hourly as per the CFIS hourly pay grid based on relevant education and experience.The position is eligible for employee group benefits and the Level 1 – 3%  RSP (Retirement Saving Plan) benefit.Two (2) weeks off in December, one (1) week off in each February and March.
