The incumbent will be traveling into communities to deliver face to face, on-site instruction throughout the academic year. The University Instructor will also be responsible for mentoring students; liaising with Indigenous and northern communities and organizations and participating in other program functions. This position requires Practicum Instruction and Field Placement supervision in various communities. Current community programs are offered in Split Lake, Pinaymootang, Sapotaweyak, Chemawawin and Sandy Bay.  REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Master’s degree in education; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered • A minimum of five (5) years teaching experience in First Nations or provincial public school (K-12)Familiarity with Manitoba K-12 curriculumUnderstanding of cultural and language influences specific to adult learners in norther communitiesAbility to integrate Indigenous knowledge into all courses • Effective communication and interpersonal skillsEffective time management skillsCommitment to life-long learning ASSETS: Experience with teacher evaluation or mentoringAbility to speak an Indigenous languageKnowledge and understanding of Indigenous cultures CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: Candidates must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident of Canada Applicants are asked to provide a cover letter and resume with their application.
