We are one of Manitoba’s Top Employers and offer a generous Total Compensation Package with health benefits, a great pension plan along with the opportunity for personal and professional growth including tuition waivers. DUTIESReporting to the Dean and working with other university faculty in the Kenanow program, the successful candidate will research, develop and deliver courses in the Bachelor of Education programming in various Manitoba communities. The incumbent will be traveling into communities to deliver face to face, on-site instruction throughout the academic year. The University Instructor will also be responsible for mentoring students; liaising with Indigenous and northern communities and organizations and participating in other program functions. This position requires Practicum Instruction and Field Placement supervision in various communities. Current community programs are offered in Split Lake, Pinaymootang, Sapotaweyak, Chemawawin and Sandy Bay.  REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Master’s degree in education; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered • A minimum of five (5) years teaching experience in First Nations or provincial public school (K-12)Familiarity with Manitoba K-12 curriculumUnderstanding of cultural and language influences specific to adult learners in norther communitiesAbility to integrate Indigenous knowledge into all courses • Effective communication and interpersonal skillsEffective time management skillsCommitment to life-long learning ASSETS: Experience with teacher evaluation or mentoringAbility to speak an Indigenous languageKnowledge and understanding of Indigenous cultures CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: Candidates must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident of Canada Applicants are asked to provide a cover letter and resume with their application.
