Summary This announcement is in conjunction with the Eielson AFB, Nonappropriated Fund Hiring Fair to be held on Wednesday, 05 November 2025 from 9:00AM - 3:00PM at the Yukon Club Ballroom on Eielson AFB, AK. This position is located at the School Age Center. Hours subject but not limited to: 6:00am - 5:00pm Monday - Friday Occasional Weekends DAF Child and Youth Programs Employee Child Care Discount applicable to this position (see Additional Information) Thank you for considering employment with Air Force Services Non-Appropriated Funds (NAF). 354th Force Support Squadron (FSS) is looking for the best and brightest to join our Team! Live and work in the Fairbanks North Star Borough where summer is known for its Midnight Sun, fall abounds with a landscape of vibrant changing colors, and snowy winters are idyllic for viewing the Aurora Borealis. The city of North Pole which captures the holiday spirit year round is located 15 minutes outside of Eielson AFB. Fairbanks, the second largest city in Alaska, is only a 30 minute drive from Eielson. The position may offer a recruitment incentive bonus of up to $2000.00. If selected and offered a recruitment incentive, the applicant will be required to serve a minimum of 12 months in the DOD.Major Duties: CHILD AND YOUTH PROGRAM ASSISTANT (ALL LEVELS): The incumbent will serve as a Child and Youth Program Assistant (CYPA) in one or more child and youth programs and will be accountable for the whereabouts and safety of children and youth. Provides care/supervision, oversight and accountability for program participants. Assists in preparing age appropriate activities; supervises children and youth during indoor and outdoor activities, on field trips, outings and special events; arranges and serves snacks/meals. Executes work in accordance with policies and regulations. May be required to transport children in government vehicles. This position performs duties as described on SPG 70178. In addition to duties described on SPG 70178, the incumbent performs the following: transports children and youth in one or more types of passenger government vehicles such as sedan, van, school bus, truck, jeep, station wagon, etc. based on specific trip assignments, or regular schedules. Reads maps and judges road/traffic conditions to determine the shortest and safest route. Enforces passenger seatbelt use. CHILD AND YOUTH PROGRAM ASSISTANT (TARGET LEVEL): Coordinates and conducts activities for children and/or youth ranging in age from 6 weeks to 18 years. Creates an environment which welcomes participant interest and promotes positive interactions. Implements program options for children and youth with special requirements. Demonstrates, instructs, leads and facilitates planned and spontaneous program activities. Briefs staff, management, and parents on activities.
