Special Education Teacher

Sturgeon Lake School is looking for a highly motivated special education teacher  for the 2025-2026 school year.We pride ourselves in offering Cree language (nehiyawewin) at our school and believe in the power of culture in education. The successful applicants will have confidence in weaving foundational knowledge throughout the Alberta curriculum (see TQS-5) and be willing to learn about our thriving community.As a school we provide professional development opportunities and ensure that our staff is always growing and developing in their profession as educators.We are looking for both experienced and new teachers who will bring creativity and energy to the team.We are looking for hard-working teachers who are team players, positive role models, and are dedicated to quality education in the community. A successful candidate would recognize the importance of differentiated instruction and adapt their instruction to meet the needs of their students. The successful applicant will understand the importance of relationships and bring with them the ability to relate with all staff, students and the community of Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation.Sturgeon Lake School is located 15 minutes west of Valleyview, Alberta on the Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation.
