Addison School, we create an engaging and nurturing environment to ensure our students' success in all aspects of their lives.Role Description:We are seeking an English Teacher to begin with summer school credit courses in August, and continue into the 2025-2026 academic year starting in September. The English Teacher will be responsible for delivering high-quality education to secondary students, creating lesson plans, and developing the curriculum. The role also involves teaching English literature and fostering a positive learning environment.Qualifications:English Teaching and Qualified Teacher certificationStrong knowledge of English Literature, English credited coursesExperience in lesson planning and curriculum developmentExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsPassionate about teaching and inspiring studentsFlexibility and adaptability in the classroomExperience working with diverse student populationsAdditional qualifications in ESL teaching or special education are beneficialJob duties:Instructs students, using various teaching methods, for example lecture and demonstration, and uses audiovisual aids and other materials to supplement presentations.Prepares course objectives and outline for course of study following curriculum guidelines or requirements of school.Assigns lessons and corrects homework.Administers tests to evaluate students' progress, records results, and issues reports to inform parents of progress.Keeps and maintains attendance records, and follows up with principal and guardians, as needed.Performs related duties, for example sponsoring one or more activities or student organizations, assisting pupils in selecting course of study, and counselling student in adjustment and academic problems.Instructs and monitors students in the use of learning materials and equipmentUpdates all necessary records accurately and completely as required by Ministry and school regulationsPerforms certain pastoral duties including but not limited to student support, counselling students with academic problems and providing student encouragementSchedule: Monday-Friday, 9.30am-3.45pmHourly rate: $25 - $30/hourJ.
