 Employment OpportunityHead Cook at Bernard Constant Community School located on the James Smith Cree Nation   The East Central First Nations Education Authority (ECFNEA) is committed to providing the highest quality of Educational Services by our people to our people, for our people.  The Authority focuses on developing and implementing Culture, Cree Language, and Trauma Sensitive Programs which focus on the needs of our First Nation community of James Smith Cree Nation.  The ECFNEA’s facilities include the Bernard Constant Community School located on James Smith Cree Nation (JSCN) and a sub-office in Nipawin, Saskatchewan. The Nipawin Sub-office of the Authority is located downtown Nipawin which is a town of about 4,400 and it services nearby industries which include agriculture, canola oil processing, commercialization of second-generation biofuels, forestry, honey production, and tourism.  Nipawin has become a destination area for boating, camping, fishing, golfing, hunting and outdoor recreation. To obtain more information on the ECFNEA please visit our website at https://www.ecfnep.ca/ The Bernard Constant Community School (BCCS), located on the JSCN, requires an energetic, motivated Head Cook.  JSCN is located near the city of Melfort in northeast Saskatchewan and the Bernard Constant Community School has approximately 400 students enrolled in their K to Grade 12 Programs. Position TitleHead Cook Duties and Responsibilities ·       The Head Cook in prepares and serves nutritious meals and snacks to the students. ·       The Head cook is required to maintain the cleanliness of the kitchen·       The Head Cook in required to organize the daily operations of the kitchen and helpers ·       Head cook supervises the preparation of food such as washing and peeling vegetables, baking and other food prep.  ·       Ensures all food is properly stored. ·       Prepares snacks and breakfast items·       The Head Cook orders all necessary food items for the breakfast, hot lunch, and snack program·       The Head Cook supervises and helps unload and put away food deliveries.·       Maintain the organization and inventory of food supplies in the food storage areas.·       Organizes the routine cleaning of the kitchen, dishroom and related equipment.·       Ensures that prep dishes are cleaned and maintained.   The ideal candidate will have the following: These staff members did not finish the training.  Sky Brown ( wasn't able to finish last day)Ryan Brown (has something this Thursday, June 17, 2025)Taris Marion (left 2nd day)Lloyd Cheekinew (left 2nd day)Joran Twist (left 2nd day)November Twist (left 2nd day)Lennex Whitehead (left 2nd day)Gregory Brittain (was sick kept leaving training)  ·       Current Food Safety (Handler’s) Certificate·       Previous cooking/kitchen experience or a passion for cooking and willingness to learn·       Ability to work with children and adults·       Familiarity with current Canada Food Guide recommendations·       Flexibility to deal with changing schedules and special dietary concerns·       A CPIC with vulnerable sector check.·       A valid Drivers license is an asset.·       Current CPR level C and Standard First Aid Salary and BenefitsSalary/Wages are commensurate with experience.Extended health benefits, vacation or holiday pay, and personal/sick leave may be available depending on contract terms.
