In addition to spending an engaging day with students who are genuinely interested in learning, thinking and playing, teachers are provided with dedicated work time as part of their daily schedule to plan and work collaboratively with others and to stay current in their field.Responsibilities:●      Bring a student-centred, inquiry-based and collaborative approach to the delivery of the B.C. curriculum of Mathematics●      Support the growth and development of individual learners through the delivery of the Crofton House School Advisory program●      Work as a collaborative and supportive member of the Mathematics department●      Build relationships with teachers and staff across the school community●      Be an active and positive participant in the co-curricular program as appropriate for the term of the contract●      Participate in school meetings and events, including school planning and professional development●      Create a positive and supportive culture for learning Qualifications, Knowledge, Experience:●      Essential: B.C. Ministry of Education Certificate or Independent School Certification qualification criteria●      Relevant university qualifications preferably at the graduate level (e.g. Bachelor of Education plus Bachelor of Science, Mathematics major)●      Experience as a Math Teacher at a senior school level (grade 8 - 12)●      A comprehensive understanding of current educational practices outlined in the BC Ministry of Education documents●      Experience teaching Advanced Placement courses and/or Calculus 12, an asset●      Experience in an independent school, an asset●      Understanding of ‘Standards-Based Learning/Assessment’, an asset●      An awareness of the learning styles of girls and young women●      Collaborative and energetic with a passion for teaching●      Committed to the craft of teaching, best practices, and standards of professional practice●      Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills●      Energy, commitment and a readiness to participate in the co-curricular program the diverse life of the school community
