French as a Second Language Jr. High Teacher

New Horizons School requests applications for a part-time  junior high teaching position. This is a temporary .4 FTE position, commencing November 17, 2025 and ending June 25, 2026. The teacher shall possess, or be eligible for, an Alberta teaching certificate. The successful candidate will follow the Alberta Program of Studies to teach and assess French as a Second Language for grades 7-9. Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate the following qualities:  Fluency in French.Experience teaching at the junior high or middle school level..A demonstrated ability to differentiate instruction, use formative assessments, and be competent working with students with varying levels of social, emotional, and intellectual needs.Excellent communication skills.An ability to work collaboratively with grade level partners, other colleagues, administrators, and parents.A demonstrated ability to effectively use learning technology for instruction.Experience working with gifted students and/or training in gifted education would be an assetLocated in Sherwood Park, Alberta, New Horizons School is a growing public charter school, enrolling approximately 455 students in grades K-9 and focusing on the needs of intellectually-gifted learners.
