 PFull-time permanent Indigenous Liaison Worker (35 hrs/wk) Job #53-25/26Start date: ASAPLocation to be determined at a later date       Grande Prairie & District Catholic Schools covers a geographical area that includes the regional communities of Grande Prairie, Beaverlodge, Sexsmith, and Spirit River. We are a team of 600 staff who provide quality teaching and learning experiences for approximately 5400 students.  Position OverviewThe Indigenous Liaison Worker is responsible for developing a proactive approach to connect Indigenous families, school and community groups in order to facilitate support and services to Indigenous students.  Ideal Candidate QualitiesThe ability to establish meaningful relationships with Indigenous families and community agencies in order to support student successThe ability to understand that involvement in cultural activities directly relates to student successVisit homes when required to provide a positive link between the school and the home to support student successProvide schools with Indigenous presentations/knowledge, or provide a link to Indigenous presenters in the community Desired QualificationsMinimum of three (3) years successful experience working with Indigenous students, parents and familiesUndergraduate degree in Social Sciences or relevant diploma/certificate from a recognized community collegeKnowledge of Indigenous culture, traditions and history Starting compensation will be as per the Collective Agreement: $22.26/hr A recent Police Information Check will be required if you are the successful applicant.
