The Administrative Assistant will assist with budgeting, organizing and scheduling meetings, preparation and distribution of a wide range of reports, correspondences, agendas and meeting minutes, coordinate travel arrangements, and carry out special assignments. The incumbent will work with all the divisions and departments within UCN and external agencies including other post- secondary institutions and Indigenous organizations to ensure the effective implementation and processing of all academic and related issues. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:• Office Assistant Certificate; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered • Minimum of one (1) year of office/administrative experience• Experience in reviewing and monitoring office budgets• Experience coordinating and scheduling travel arrangements• Experience with scheduling meetings and minute taking• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office 365, Zoom, Teams and other virtual communication tools and office technologies • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines• Ability to take initiative• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced work environment• Ability to maintain confidentiality• Effective communication and interpersonal skills• Effective critical thinking and problem-solving skills• Commitment to life-long learning ASSETS:• Ability to speak an indigenous language• Knowledge and understanding of Indigenous cultures Conditions of Employment:• Candidates must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident of Canada Applicants are asked to provide a cover letter and resume with their application.
