Summary This position is located at Watervliet, NY. Morale Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Child and Youth Services (CYS) Employee Childcare Fee: Available to MWR CYS Regular and FLEX (working a minimum of 15 hours). First Child: 100% childcare fee discount (all CYS employees). Second and Subsequent Child: 25% childcare fee discount (all CYS employees). Incentives and Bonuses Incentives will not be paid. The Watervliet Arsenal is located in Watervliet, New York. It is an Army-owned and operated manufacturing center and is located about 160 miles north of New York City, NY on the western bank of the Hudson River. It is the oldest, continuously active arsenal in the United States having begun operations in 1813. Today it is relied upon by U.S. and foreign militaries to produce the most advanced, high-powered weaponry for cannon, howitzer, and mortar systems. The Arsenal is the only location in the Department of Defense that has a weapons research facility (Benet Laboratories) collocated with a manufacturing facility (Arsenal). Watervliet's Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation Division is a comprehensive network of quality support and leisure services that enhances the lives of Soldiers, Civilians, Families, military retirees and other eligible participants. Their vision is to be the driving force for programs and services that provide the foundation for the Army'sMajor Duties: Serves as a Child and Youth Program Assistant in a Child and Youth Services program and maintains control of and accounts for whereabouts and safety of children and youth. Plans, coordinates, and conducts activities that meet the physical, social, emotional and cognitive needs for program participants based on the group and individual children and youth. Establishes a program environment that sustains participant interest and promotes positive interactions with other children, youth, and adults. Helps prepare, arrange, and maintain indoor and outdoor activity areas and materials to accommodate daily schedules and provides program options for children with special requirements. Maintains program participation data and complete daily report.
