Speech-Language Pathologist - ContractorExpression of Interest The Meadow Lake Tribal Council invites contractors to submit an “Expression of Interest” for a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) for the Office of Education. The contractor will work closely with and form an integral part of the MLTC Student Wellness team. The contractor will focus on collaboration and consultation with the nine (9) schools in providing supports and programming. The contractor will provide creative strategies at all 3 levels of tiered intervention that teachers and students utilize to support student development.  Specific Roles and Responsibilities:Use a variety of formal and informal assessments and procedures to assess and identify language, speech, voice, resonance, and fluency disorders.Provide consultation and intervention services for students with fluency disordersEducate and counsel clients, families, and school staff regarding communication disorders.Design and employ argumentative and alternative communication strategies and devices.Develop and implement treatment plans for students with articulation delays or disorders.Educate support staff to implement articulation therapy.Collaborate with other SLPs to support students with various concerns and therapy.Provide follow-up to recommendations made, and provides additional support where required including requested PD.Provide professional development opportunities to the school-based team as requested.Create reports which provide recommendations to the school-based team or home which may include (but not limited to): adapting classroom tasks, creating individualized and classroom programming, and making suggestions to assist with success in the classroom and school environment.Other duties as assigned. Qualifications:Master’s Degree in the area of responsibility; must be a member of and licensed with the Saskatchewan Association of Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists (SASLPA).Experience in working with First Nations’ Schools & Communities.Willing to travel to the First Nation Communities; work within a team setting and independently.Support land, language, relationship and culture initiatives.
