High School English Teacher

A traditional Cree community with a rich history and deep cultural values embraced by a population of over 3000 people. The school has a population of approximately 490 students in a 7-12 setting. The school has all the technological resources and modern amenities to deliver the Manitoba curriculum.   Required qualifications:·         Bachelor of Education degree or the equivalentIn the event that there is no successful candidate this position may be offered as a one-year term under Letter of Authority Certification.Desired qualifications:·         Experience and / or training with current assessment methods·         Evidence of differentiated instruction and inclusive practices·         Experience and / or training in classroom management practices and the development of positive learning environments·         Cross-cultural and/or northern teaching experience·         Evidence of training and / or experience in the subject area·         Training and / or teaching experience in an ESL environment·         Evidence / experience building positive relationships with students, colleagues, parents, stakeholdersSalary and Benefits: The salary for certified applicants plus benifits ranges from $98,526.17 prorated/annum to $139,113.92 prorated/annum, with a isolation allowance of $17,420.00. Housing is provided, which includes a fully furnished apartment, heat, hydro, water, internet at a cost of $289.00 biweekly.
