Learning Resource Teacher

Chief Sabitawasis School is seeking a qualified LEARNING RESOURCE TEACHER. Individual must have Special Needs certification along with a valid Saskatchewan teaching certificate. Expectations of an LRT are as follows:- knowledge of and works within the Response to Intervention (RTI) and Continuum of Supports model (Tier 1 - Classroom Instruction; Tier 2 - Classroom Supports; Tier 3 - School Team Supports;)- knowledge of and implements best practices as they relate to inclusion, differentiation, and Universal Design for Learning (UDL)- knowledge of co-teaching; implements co-teaching models in classrooms- knowledge of the Collaborative Response Model, and supports collaboration within the school setting and/or collaborates with outside agencies- knowledge of relevant technology such as MSS/Aspen (IIPs) and Clevr- models inclusive practices and strategies- communicates effectively with the principal, school team members, families, and outside agencies- able to admiinister specialized academic assessments (ex. Woodcock-Johnson IV)- engages with classroom teachers and other school team members, including the school principal, family members, and outside agencies, to develop and report on assessing IIP goals ( ex progress reports)- completes and submits referrals through CLEVR for SLP, OT, educational psychology, transportation, assistive te chnology, counselling, etc.- respects and maintains confidentiality of the position; avoids sharing student/staff information and protects student information by only sharing what is acceptable and necessary with appropriate staff members
