The programs goal is to graduate inspired leaders and socially responsible agents of change.We are seeking a Social Justice/Service Learning Teacher for the Senior School, central to the South Quadrant programming. This role includes designing and leading hands-on workshops and experiences, mentoring students in service-based projects, and managing community partnerships. As an Experiential Learning Facilitator, you will turn student initiatives into tangible projects that make a meaningful impact.We are looking for an experienced, student-centered educator passionate about experiential learning and supporting students as they explore purpose and engage with local and global communities. You have expertise in service learning, and human rights education, and you can guide students through dialogue on complex and divisive issues. You value student agency, collaboration with colleagues, and the role of parents as partners in education.The ideal candidate is approachable, genuine, and supportive, committed to professional growth, reflective practice, and active participation in the life of the school. At CHS, you will work with intellectually curious students and a collaborative, inspiring team of colleagues who share a passion for learning.This is a fixed-term contract from September 2026 to February 2027 to cover a leave of absence.Key responsibilities for the (Interim) Teacher, Experiential Learning (Ivy Compass)â Lead the implementation and consistent evaluation of experiential learning opportunities in the Senior School in Service Learning program in the South Quadrant.â Provide support to the Ivy Compass Team, in the implementation of service learning opportunities in the local community and beyond as part of the South Quadrantâ Lead and collaborate with the Ivy team on the development and delivery of ten Ivy days throughout the yearâ Collaborate with students and staff in the development of themed events and assemblies, as relevant to the role.â Provide support to the Ivy Compass Team, in planning and organizing the Volunteer Fairâ Support and attend Grade-wide Outdoor Education trips (minimum of 2), through a knowledgeable understanding of the programming and risk protocols as requiredâ Lead a Grade 10 leadership moduleâ Support student volunteer initiatives in this areaâ Support other aspects of the program as requiredâ Support the growth and development of individual learners through the delivery of the Crofton House School Advisory program as an Sr Sc Advisorâ Work as a collaborative and supportive member of the Ivy Compass Departmentâ Build relationships with teachers and staff across the school communityâ Be an active and positive participant in the co-curricular programâ Participate in school meetings and events, including school planning and professional developmentâ Create a positive and supportive culture for learningâ Bring a student-centered, inquiry-based and collaborative approach to the delivery of the B.C. curriculum (Grade 8 - 12) Qualifications, Knowledge, Experience:â Essential: B.C.
