Learning Consultant. The Learning Consultant will provide support, consultation and leadership in the area of curriculum, instruction & assessment and personalized learning. The office base and portfolio will be determined in consultation with the Superintendent of Learning. The successful applicant will work under the direction of the Superintendent of Learning.Preference will be given to candidates who possess:Advanced knowledge of principles and practices related to student learning and engagement.Advanced understanding of instructional strategies to support Tier 1 and 2 and using the adaptive dimension.Demonstrated expertise and knowledge of K-9 curriculum and assessment practices.Demonstrates innovative pedagogical practices.Experience teaching in multi-grade settings.Proven ability to integrate 21st Century skills into teaching curricular outcomes.Exemplary leadership skills and ability to plan, lead and implement initiatives.Exceptional communication and organizational skills.Ability to work independently, prioritize workload and meet deadlines.Ability to travel to fulfill the duties and responsibilities of the position.Areas of responsibility include:1. Instructional Support & Curriculum DevelopmentProvide guidance and coaching to educators on evidence-based instructional strategies and best practices.Support the development, adaptation, and implementation of curriculum frameworks, instructional materials, and learning resources.Collaborate with teachers to design effective learning environments that promote student engagement, inclusion, and success.Model instructional approaches and co-plan or co-teach as needed to support teacher growth.2. Assessment & Data-Informed Decision MakingSupport schools in implementing effective assessment practices, including formative, summative, and diagnostic assessments.Assist educators in analyzing student learning data to identify trends, strengths, and needs at the class, school, or system level.Guide teams in using data to inform instructional adjustments, intervention planning, and goal setting.Provide training and resources to enhance teachers' assessment literacy.3. Professional Learning & Capacity BuildingDesign, coordinate, and facilitate professional learning opportunities for educators, support staff, and school leaders.Lead workshops, communities of practice, coaching cycles, and professional development sessions aligned with organizational priorities.Promote continuous learning by curating and sharing relevant research, tools, and instructional resources.Support school-based teams in building collaborative cultures focused on improving teaching and learning.4. Collaboration & Resource CoordinationWork with school leaders, division teams, and external partners to align instructional initiatives and support system-wide goals.Assist with the development, implementation, and evaluation of strategic learning initiatives.Serve as a resource for schools by connecting educators with materials, expertise, and support services.Contribute to organizational planning, reporting, and communication related to learning and instruction. Applicants must have a minimum of 5 years teaching experience and a teaching certificate.Sun West School Division will confirm employment upon receipt of a satisfactory Criminal Records Check and Vulnerable Sector Check.Inquiries may be directed to Kim Price, Superintendent of Learning, at (306) 882-2677.Application Procedure:This position will remain open until a suitable candidate is selected.
