Reporting to the Principal, you will provide instruction, supervision, and education services to our students, supporting extra-curricular services as required. Following the Quebec provincial (MEQ) and local curriculum, you will also incorporate the ABL culture and tradition into the regular curriculum while modifying materials and teaching styles to meet the unique needs of your students.Provide instruction for ABL students as assigned, preparing annual, monthly, and daily lesson plans.Consistently evaluate and report on intellectual, social, and academic progress.Set high academic and behavioral goals for each student and class.Be punctual at all times, dedicated and committed to student successParticipate as a member of the school’s supervisory and extra-curricular teams, including school-based teams and committees.Consult regularly with the Principal and other colleagues for the benefit of all students.Develop, display, and enforce a code of conduct for the classroom.Involve family and community members in classroom activities regularly.Inform the Principal and parents of any extraordinary situations about the student in writing.Report formally to parents a minimum of 10 times a year, and supply parents with at least two other informal communiqués.Inform the Principal or designate immediately of any safety concerns or situations in the school or playground.Adhere to all ABL Board of Education policies and directives.Create an annual professional growth plan to address areas for concentrated improvement and professional development.Participate in formal and informal Professional Development and in-service programmingMaintain up-to-date records as required by the ABL policies and the Principal.Actively attend and participate in all staff meetingsOther duties as assigned Education & Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in education or undergraduate degree with a teaching certificate.Member in good standing with the MEQ (or the ability to obtain)Knowledge of ABL and/ or willingness to learn and teach with ABL Skills & Experience:Experience working with First Nation culture and children.Working knowledge of the MEQ curriculum.Committed and dedicated to school successPositive, proactive, and willing to go the extra distance to ensure student successAble to plan, organize and maintain student records effectively.Can lead, motivate, encourage, and empower students.Computer literate with exceptional knowledge of educational applications and functions.Demonstrated experience in curriculum developmentSigning Bonus possibility for right candidates  Please note that there is no charge for accommodation.   Also, every other Friday is a half work day.  Also, this contract may be renewed annually subject to Teacher Evaluation Assessment.Please send copy of resume, letter of intent, transcripts and copy of teaching certificate via email at: Rebecca.Tolley@edu.rapidlake.ca
