The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to work with students with a variety of learning diversities. Through working alongside the Learning Strategies Coordinator, learning strategies and classroom teachers, Educational Assistants play an important role in the implementation of IEPs (Individual Education Plans) by performing a variety of functions to support our diverse learners, including working one-to-one with students in the classroom.QualificationsDiploma of Educational Assistant with Special Education trainingTwo years of working in Special Education preferredExperience and/or qualifications in working with children with hearing impairments, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and a range of neuro-diversities British Columbia Teachers' certification is an assetIndependent School experience is an assetKnowledge, Skills and ExperienceKnowledge of British Columbia Curriculum and pedagogyKnowledge of the current research on girls and learning, developing critical 21st-century global capacitiesDemonstrated experience as an enthusiastic and caring educator.
