You will be part of a collaborative teaching team supporting the positive growth and development of young girls in the Junior School. Teaching and learning is guided and enhanced by the principles of a student-centred, collaborative approach with an inquiry-based focus to deepen learning for young students. The successful candidate will join a vibrant, innovative school community focused on personal excellence, whole child development, and overall well-being. In addition to spending an engaging day with students who are genuinely interested in learning, you will have an opportunity to work alongside educators, teachers, and leaders who are highly collaborative and dedicated to the profession of teaching. This is a one year position to cover a leave with 0.8FTE teaching science/Grade 7 form teacher and 0.20FTE supporting learning resources. Opportunities:●      Establish a day-to-day connection and belonging in the Junior School community●      Collaborate with a team of dedicated professionals who embrace school values of courage, creativity, and citizenship●      Participate in a dynamic professional development network, including weekly Late Start Wednesdays●      Enjoy leadership in co-curricular activities●      Integrate meaningful technology into student learning●      Employees of Crofton House School receive competitive compensation and generous support for professional, educational and leadership development Responsibilities: â—      Create a classroom community rich in SEL for Grade 7 girls in a homeroom setting●      Plan the Grade 6 & 7 Science  Curriculum in a team-based, collaborative approach●      Implement dynamic and interactive lessons●      Consider the diverse needs of students in your planning and teaching, offering a range of entry points and extensions to accommodate the needs of individual learners●      Utilize a variety of assessment techniques that allow for timely, transparent, and strength-based communication of learning●      Develop a student-centered, inquiry-based, and supportive culture for learning●      Integrate technology into teaching and learning in meaningful ways●      Communicate and collaborate with students, parents, teachers and administration to support student learning and wellbeing●      Be an active and positive participant in school life including co-curricular activities●      Support the supervision of students during non-instructional time●      Participate in wider school wide events such as community time, student leadership opportunities and outdoor education experiences●      Work with select studentsLearning Resources Support (0.2FTE)●      Work collaboratively with learning resource teachers to provide integrated support to Middle School students●      Collaborate with teachers to strengthen their capacity to support students with learning needs●      Foster a positive, supportive learning culture that celebrates diverse learning profiles●      Support classroom learning through small"‘group and individual instructionQualifications: â—    B.C. Ministry of Education Certificate or Independent School Certification●    Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent●    Previous experience teaching in a middle school capacity an asset●    Understanding on how to support diverse learning styles at an elementary level●    Collaborative and energetic with a passion for teaching●    Excellent written and oral communication skills●    Demonstrated ability to be innovative, flexible, highly organized with attention to detail●       Energy, commitment, and readiness to participate in the co-curricular program and the diverse life     of the school community
