Substitute Academic Teacher

 PURPOSE: The Academic Teacher instructs in a manner that recognizes every student as competent, intelligent, and creative. The teacher is expected to meet the legal obligations and responsibilities of the School Act, Alberta Ballet School policies, and corporate safety regulations and procedures, while adhering to the teaching Professional Code of Conduct.Key Responsibilities:Provide academic teaching for Social 8/9/10-1, ELL Social 8/9, English 7/8, and Health 7/8 from May 7th until May 27th with possibility of extension.Qualifications:Must have Bachelor’s Degree in Education and hold an Alberta Teaching CertificateFacility with technology and its possibilities for enhancing learningAbility to handle a fast-paced environmentExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsEmployment is subject to successful completion of a Police Background and Vulnerable Sectors Check Responsibilities:Provide instruction based on Teacher Quality Standards in the province of AlbertaUnderstand and actualize a rich and rigorous curriculum while utilizing the Alberta program of studies as a guideCreate and nurture an intellectual learning environmentEvaluate students and report the results to students, parents/guardiansCarry out related duties that are assigned by the Academic Principal or the Alberta Ballet School such as, and not limited to, supervision on campus and students attending or participating in activities sponsored or approved by the School of Alberta BalletWorking Conditions & Other DetailsThis position is entitled to time off during school breaks as per the academic calendar.
