Indigenous Knowledge Keeper Coordinator

The ideal candidate will have: A Manitoba Teacher's Certificate or eligibility for teacher certification in the Province of Manitoba.The ability to assist administrators, teachers and/or other members of the divisional team with the development and delivery of programs that reflect northern Indigenous perspectives and the Cree language.The ability to provide leadership and facilitate training focusing on Indigenous worldviews and cultural proficiency with a northern perspective.The ability to coordinate and deliver district wide programs and events to provide meaningful opportunities to learn about northern and Indigenous culture and build cross cultural understanding and relationships.The ability to co-plan with teachers to build capacity to incorporate Indigenous perspectives into classroom  teaching and learning as well as to support the use of culturally proficient practice.The ability to facilitate professional development training for teachers, administrators and other district staff  related to northern Indigenous education, Indigenous worldviews and cultural proficiency.The ability to build relationships with Elders, traditional people and the community to connect community resources to schools.The ability to maintain working relationships with Manitoba Education and Early Childhood Development and other community agencies as necessary.The ability to data collect, analyze and report to support research informed decision making and resource  allocations.The ability to work in a team focused environment including classrooms.The ability to speak Cree.
