Our mission is to create a supportive and engaging learning environment that inspires both students and educators alike.聽Duties and Responsibilities:As a Numeracy Catalyst, you will play a pivotal role in promoting numeracy initiatives and engaging diverse populations in numeracy activities. You will work collaboratively with educators, community organizations, and families to create and implement programs that inspire a love for numeracy and improve numeracy skills across all age groups.聽Key Responsibilities:聽Responsibilities of a Numeracy Catalyst聽路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Conduct Learning Sessions: Organize and lead workshops, seminars, and training sessions aimed at enhancing numeracy skills for both students and educators, ensuring that the content is engaging and easily comprehensible.聽路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Create Educational Resources: Develop and curate a diverse range of teaching materials, including lesson plans, instructional guides, and assessment tools, to facilitate effective numeracy instruction.聽路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Evaluate Numeracy Proficiency: Administer diagnostic assessments to gauge learners' numeracy skills, pinpointing strengths and areas that require improvement to customize support effectively.聽路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Collaborate with Educators: Partner with teachers and school personnel to weave numeracy strategies into the curriculum, providing ongoing assistance and feedback to enhance instructional methods.聽路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Foster a Positive Learning Environment: Promote a culture of mathematical thinking and problem-solving, creating a safe space for inquiry and exploration of numeracy concepts.聽路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Engage Parents and the Community: Plan events and initiatives that involve parents and community members in numeracy activities, increasing awareness and support for numeracy development beyond the classroom.聽路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Monitor Progress and Outcomes: Track and analyze students' progress in numeracy, utilizing data to guide instructional choices and adapt strategies to accommodate diverse learning needs.聽路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Stay Updated on Best Practices: Continuously research and implement current trends and evidence-based practices in numeracy education, participating in professional development opportunities to enhance personal expertise.聽路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Advocate for Numeracy Education: Emphasize the significance of numeracy skills in everyday life and future prospects, advocating for resources and policies that bolster effective numeracy education.聽路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Encourage Peer Learning: Establish opportunities for educators to exchange knowledge and strategies related to numeracy teaching, fostering a supportive community of practice among staff.聽Qualifications:路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Education Bachelor Degree路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Valid Professional 聯A聰 Teaching Certificate聽路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Strong understanding of Saulteaux Culture preferred and or willing to learn聽路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Excellent communication and organizational skills路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Commitment to being innovative and adaptive to teaching techniques and methods that meet the diverse needs of students路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Ability to work collaboratively within a team and engage with the community聽What We Offer:路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Competitive salary and benefits package路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Opportunities for professional development and continuing education路聽聽聽聽聽聽 Supportive and inclusive school culture聽Application Process: 聽Interested candidates are invited to submit their resume, a cover letter, and three professional references to Yellow Quill First Nation Human ResourcesShantel Poorman, HRshantel.poorman@yqfn.ca
