This is an exciting opportunity to teach art to students in a vibrant Cree community committed to academic excellence, cultural strength, and holistic student development. About Sunchild First Nation SchoolLocated approximately 60 km northwest of Rocky Mountain House, Sunchild First Nation School is a modern K4–Grade 12 facility serving approximately 385 students with over 70 staff members. Our school offers one of the most comprehensive and holistic education systems in the region. The successful candidate will create an inclusive, student-centred learning environment that supports creativity and engagement in arts and crafts. This role requires strong instructional practice, the ability to build positive relationships with students, and a commitment to supporting artistic success across diverse learning needs. The ideal candidate-Builds strong, respectful relationships with students-Demonstrates flexibility and adaptability-Delivers engaging instruction aligned with the Alberta curriculum-Values culture, diversity, and community partnerships-Is open to working in a First Nation setting using culturally responsive approaches-Collaborates effectively within a team environment Teachers must be eligible for Alberta Teachers’ Certification. New graduates of Bachelor of Education programs are encouraged to apply. The successful candidate must provide a Criminal Record Check and an Intervention Record Check as a condition of employment.
