IDEAL Program Teacher-RD Parker Collegiate

The Indiviualized Direction for Educational Achievement & Learning Program Teacher supports students that haveindividualized programming as defined by Manitoba Education and Early Childhood Learning. The plans are diverseand designed to meet the individual needs of each student, which the teacher is responsible for developing,implementing and assessing.The ideal candidate will have:-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A Manitoba Teacher's Certificate or eligibility for teacher certification in the Province of Manitoba.- A Resource Teacher Certificate or willingness to work towards such certification.- Experience preparing SSP (Student Specific Plans), and related documentation will be considered an asset.- Experience working with students that have a variety of programming types.- Willingness to implement life skills programming.- Familiarity with directives outlined in The Standards for Appropriate Educational Programming in Manitoba.- A working knowledge of intellectual, medical, physical and psychological disabilities and their implications.- The knowledge to design, implement and evaluate instructional programs that enhance personal development and increase the general quality of life.- Knowledge of K-12 Manitoba Curriculum and cross-curricular planning.- The ability to work well with teachers in a collaborative and consultative environment.- The ability to manage, schedule and oversee educational assistant's daily tasks.- The ability to implement individual student's transportation plans.- Strong leadership abilities, demonstrated professional commitment and above average interpersonal skills.Crucial to this position is a commitment to culturally proficient education and a knowledge and sensitivity to the traditions of students with diverse abilities and backgrounds.Applicants are asked to provide copies of their certification.
