Summary About the position: Dahlgren is recognized throughout the Navy for providing an outstanding education to students in pre-k through eighth grade. This position is located at: Department of War Education Activity, Department of War Education Activity Mid-Atlantic District, Dahlgren Elementary Middle School, Dahlgren, Virginia. Description of Working Environment: Work is performed in a classroom setting. Department of War Education Activity (DoWEA), as one of only two Federally-operated school systems, is responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and managing prekindergarten through 12th grade educational programs on behalf of the Department of War (DoW). DoWEA is globally positioned, operating 160 accredited schools in 8 districts located in 11 foreign countries, 7 states, Guam, and Puerto Rico. Document student progress using formative and summative assessment tools. Integrate approved technology to enhance instruction and improve the quality of learning. Differentiate instruction for individual student learning styles/needs. Establish a positive learning environment with clear expectations for student success and behavior. Provide effective strategies to assist students in mastering or exceeding grade level content standards. Collaborate with parents and educators to meet the individualized learning requirements of each student. Maintain accurate individual and class records using the school information system.
