Summary This position is part of the Southwestern Indian Polytechnic Institute (SIPI), Bureau of Indian Education (BIE), Department of the Interior (DOI). As a Dean of Advanced Technology Education you will be responsible for providing supervisory and leadership duties to the Advanced Technology Education Department. The BIE's mission is to provide quality education opportunities from early childhood through life in accordance with the tribes' needs for cultural and economic well-being and in keeping with the wide diversity of American Indian tribes and Native Alaska villages as distinct cultural and governmental entities (25 CFR ? 32.3). We establish a strong educational foundation for student success.Major Duties: As a Supervisory Instructor (Dean of Advanced Technology Education), GS-1701-12, your typical work assignments will include the following under supervision: Provide leadership and management for faculty and staff within the Academic Department. Serve as an educator administrator who carries out the full range of duties and responsibilities typically related to a college academic program. Develop goals and objectives that integrate with the College's mission framework, institutional outcomes, and objectives. Provide leadership in the development and oversight of faculty committees charged with teaching, developing educational materials and special initiative projects within the academic department. Advise and assist faculty in the planning, creation, evaluation and assessment, validation and update of instructional and pedagogical materials and media. Participate in evaluating the requirements for emerging technologies, system functionality, and delivery platforms to enhance delivery of instructional programs.
