Summary THIS IS AN DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION This position is in the Excepted Service under the authority of Title V, P.L. 114-328, Sections 932 and 1084 (FY17 NDAA). This position is part of the District of Columbia National Guard under Position Description Number NGT5216000. -- This is NOT a REMOTE position; the incumbent will report to a Duty Station -- THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. The National Guard is the oldest component of the Armed Forces of the United States. Since the earliest American colonial days, citizens have joined together for collective defense. We have a proud tradition of coming to the aid of our friends and neighbors in times of serious emergencies. Join our National Guard team and serve your nation, your states and your community!Major Duties: This position is located in the Military Personnel Office (MILPO), Plans and Actions Branch of the Army National Guard. The purpose of this position is to supervise two or more of the following programs: education, incentives, testing, and guidance. The position serves as the principal advisor and consultant within the State and has primary responsibility for the development, management, and administration of the aforementioned programs through budget management, personnel supervision, program management, policy development, and advisory services. Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of assigned program areas, ensuring that legal and regulatory requirements are met. Develops goals and objectives that align organization and military human resources objectives and establishes policies and procedures for accomplishment of the same. Coordinates, plans, and schedules with other organization managers and customers as appropriate. Ensures that leadership is in compliance with statutory and regulatory guidance to maximize program effectiveness. Implements program policy from NGB in accordance with State's strategic objectives.
