Dance Teacher 1 Year Contract, 60% Commencing August 31, 2026  For more than 155 years, The Bishop Strachan School has empowered talented girls to grow into fearless women, equipped with intellectual curiosity, adaptability, and compassion to navigate the world. As a community that values the education of the whole person, we expect our Faculty Members to contribute beyond their classroom teaching to enrich student experiences across academics, co-curricular activities, and community-building initiatives.What you'll do:Teach 3 course of Dance in the Middle and Senior SchoolPrepare lesson plans, outlines and assessments using inquiry and problem-based learning that engages students, challenges them, and meets the subject-specific outcomes and expectations  Have the ability to differentiate lesson plans based on the needs of your students  Participate in co-curricular activities including coaching, clubs, trips and participating in the school community as a whole  Make contributions that productively support the overall well-being and growth of students in the Senior School  Integrate technology in the classroom in ways that  enhance the student learning experience and deepen knowledge and conceptual understanding  Communicate effectively with parents about all aspects of the overall program and the individual learning of each student  Integrate diversity, equity, inclusiveness and belonging into the classroom learning environment  Who You Are:Must have an Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certificate preferably in DanceIntermediate/Senior teaching qualifications   A passion for aligning educational research with classroom practice Strong proficiency in Google Suite; knowledge of Brightspace an asset    A growth mindset of continuous improvement and learning Culturally competent with a positive attitude toward cultural uniqueness, as well as a readiness to accept and respect others Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment for your students, with families and your colleagues.  Why Work at BSS?At BSS, we value and recognize the following core competencies in our employees; trust and integrity, collaboration, flexibility and adaptability, initiative, community focused and strong communication skills.
