Generalist/SpecEd/Resource Teacher

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITYGeneralist/Special Education Teacher/Resource Teacher Weenusk Education Services is looking for a full-time Generalist/Special Education/Resource teacher to start at the end of August 2026 at Ma-tah-ha-mao School in Peawanuck, Ontaro. The  successful candidate will not be a classroom teacher but work with a variety of students from grades 1-8.  We are open to having this teacher join us for the last couple months of this school year as well (May-June 2026).  Duties:·       Planning of daily/weekly schedule in consultation with classroom teachers.·       Work closely with children who have behavioural, communication, intellectual, physical, or multiple special needs. ·       Work collaboratively with classroom teachers.·       Provide one-on-one learning and sometimes in small groups.·       Lead students in activities to help with their development.·       Act as substitute classroom teacher when needed.·       Other responsibilities as given by the principal. Qualifications:·       Bachelor’s degree in education and OCT certified or eligible to be OCT certified.·       Training and/or experience in teaching literacy and numeracy skills to primary and intermediate level students and doing remedial work with students who were below grade level.·       Knowledge of how to modify/develop accommodations to curriculum to meet the needs of our students.·       Knowledge of Omushkegowuk Cree culture is desirable.
