Middle School Art Teacher

Fort Bend Independent School District is seeking qualified applicants for the following position: Middle School Art Teacher School Year: 2026-2027 Location: TBD Job Overview: The Teacher Middle School Art will plan and implement an instructional program and provide related educational services for students in assigned grade levels. The incumbent will manage student behaviors, assess and evaluate student achievement, and modify/control instructional activities as required. Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the above essential duties satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.Bachelor's degree in a Visual Art discipline such as Drawing, Painting, 3D, Studio Art, etc., Art Education, or related fieldMaster's degree preferredValid Teaching Certification issued by the Texas Education Agency appropriate to the subject and grade level of the assignment or has received a statement of eligibilityAP Art & Design Certification preferredValid Driver's license with CDL Certification preferred if coaching a UIL sportMinimum of 3 years experience teaching and art practice preferredCoaching experience preferred if coaching a UIL sportAbility to demonstrate proper artistic techniques in a variety of mediums (e.g. drawing, painting, sculpting, etc.)Demonstrated knowledge of content, curriculum, methods, materials, and equipment of instructional specialtyDemonstrated knowledge of adolescent growth and development or, if applicable, adult learning theoryProven ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional programsAbility to plan and implement lessons based on division and school objectives and the needs and abilities of studentsAbility to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers, and parentsExcellent communication skills, both orally and written
