Elementary Special Ed Teacher

Oklahoma City Public Schools invites applications for the following position: Elementary Special Education Teacher Location: Britton Elementary School School Year: 2026-2027 Position Summary: Create a flexible program and a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth; establishing effective rapport with pupils; motivating pupils to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for education, in accordance with each pupil’s ability; and establishing good relationships with parents and with other staff members. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s in education or a related field.Oklahoma Teaching Certification in Secondary Education in the subjects listed below, or Alternative Teaching Certification as approved by the Oklahoma State Department of Education.Autism requirements: Certification in any area and completion of 32 clock hours of Special Education Services approved autism registry training (9801 Autism); Mild-Moderate Disabilities; Severe/Profound/Multiple Disabilities.Deaf-Blindness requirements: Hearing Impaired; Deaf/Hard of Hearing; Visually Handicapped; Blind/Visual Impairment; and 9802 Deaf-Blindness.ID requirements: Mentally Handicapped; Mild-Moderate Disabilities; Severe-Profound/Multiple Disabilities.ED requirements: Emotionally Disturbed; Mild-Moderate Disabilities; Severe-Profound/MultipleDisabilities.
