Florence Unified School District #1 is seeking qualified applicants for the following position: Occupational Therapist Location: District Wide Date Available: 07/07/2026 Summary: The Occupational Therapist (OT) provides services to students with disabilities in a K-12 public school setting. The primary role of the OT is to assess, plan, and implement individualized therapeutic interventions to support students in developing the skills necessary for daily functional activities in the school environment. These interventions may address motor skills, sensory processing, self-regulation, adaptive behavior, and functional skills to promote academic success and social participation. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Strong clinical skills in evaluating and treating children with a variety of needs.Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for interacting with students, parents, staff, and interdisciplinary teams.Ability to design and implement effective therapeutic interventions that align with students' educational goals.Strong organizational skills to manage caseloads, documentation, and scheduling effectively.Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment, maintaining positive relationships with all school personnel. Education & Certification: Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.Active state licensure as an Occupational Therapist (or eligibility for licensure).Certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT) is preferred.Knowledge of current K-12 educational practices, IDEA, Section 504, and other relevant regulations is preferred. Experience: Previous experience working as an occupational therapist in a school-based setting (K-12) is preferred but not required.Experience working with students with a wide range of disabilities, including physical disabilities, developmental delays, sensory processing issues, and learning disabilities.
