Summary About the Position: This position is a 0440 Teacher, Gifted Education located at Garmisch Elementary/Middle School, Garmisch, Germany. This vacancy is for the 2026/2027 School Year. Department of War Education Activity (DoWEA), as one of only two Federally-operated school systems, is responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and managing prekindergarten through 12th grade educational programs on behalf of the Department of War (DoW). DoWEA is committed to ensuring that all school-aged children of military families are provided a world-class education that prepares them for postsecondary education and/or career success and to be leading contributors in their communities as well as in our 21st century globalized society.Major Duties: Analyzes assessment data with grade level teams and/or co-teachers to determine instructional needs and flexible grouping. Collaboratively plan with core content cluster teachers to extend student learning by developing differentiated curriculum, instruction, and assessment for students. Provide information to all stakeholders about Academic Program and Services (AAPS) program to include identification processes and procedures, differentiation, and Levels of Service. Consult with support personnel (e.g., counselor, school psychologist, etc.) to meet the cognitive and affective needs of students with advanced academic learning needs. Analyze the agencies Comprehensive Assessment System (CAS) data and local assessments to identify students who may need advanced academic support. Collaborate with special educators, multilingual program teachers, and other specialists to address the needs of students with multiple exceptionalities. Administer Cognitive Abilities Test (CogAT) screener to all sixth-grade students.
