High School Teacher

 Chief John Keenatch High School Div.4 Teacher  The Big River First Nation Education Department is hiring a high school teacher until June 2026. This teaching position is based out of Chief John Keenatch High School. Duties & Responsibilities: Diligently and faithfully teach the students the education curriculum assigned by the Principal; Plan and organize the learning activities of the class with due regard for individual differences and needs of the pupil; Cooperate with colleagues and associates in program development and teaching activities pertaining to the class and individual pupils; In cooperation with the Principal and colleagues maintain good class management control; Conduct and manage assigned functions in the instructional program in accordance with the educational policies of the Education Committee and the applicable Saskatchewan Education Act.; Requirements:  ·         Bachelor of Education degree or higher from an accredited institution; Eligible for a Saskatchewan Professional “A” or Provisional Professional “A” teaching certificate.·         Have a working knowledge of Canada’s Indigenous Peoples and to integrate their culture, values and history into the curriculum.·         Have high standards and expectations for academic achievement.·         Have excellent classroom management skills, and able to utilize and demonstrate positive classroom/behavior management strategies.·         Accommodate and include special needs children by adjusting teaching styles and curriculum as required for inclusion.·         Committed to completing the school year.·         Adhere to the Fit for Duty Policy ( Drug & Alcohol Testing)·         Submit Clean CPIC & Vulnerable Sector Check
