High School Cree/Indigenous Studies Teacher

The ideal candidate will have:------------------------------------------------------------- A Manitoba Teacher's Certificate or eligibility for teacher certification in then Province of Manitoba.- Ability to teach Grade 9, 10 & 11 Cree Language, Grade 9,10 Indigenous Studies, Grade 12 current topics in FNIM studies and Grade 12 Land and Treaties.- Fluent in Cree with strong speaking and writing skills andwriting Cree Syllabics.- A strong academic background and previous successful Cree Bilingual teaching experience.- Compentency in the instruction and assessment of provincial curricula.- An understanding of the importance of learning Cree language.- Excellent classroom management skills.- Ability to work well with teachers in a collaborative environment.- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.- Demonstrated ability and experience in the differentiation of instruction to meet the needs of all learners.- A knowledge and sensitivity to the traditions and aspirations of students with diverse abilities and background- A commitment to culturally proficient education.- Ability to build a program with a northern perspective.
