We encourage staff to take advantage of this unique opportunity, become active members of the community, build meaningful relationships, and contribute to local culture and life.This is a unique opportunity to expand your administrative leadership capacity by gaining district-level administrative experience while working in a school with small class sizes. Based on the capacity of the candidate, there is potential to be assigned district-level administrative responsibilities to work with and support the senior leadership team.We are seeking a teaching school administrator with a student-centred approach to leadership, strong communication and liaison skills, and a commitment to excellence in education to support school and student growth.  We welcome educators who have:·       Demonstrated understanding and respect for Indigenous Ways of Knowing, Being and Doing;  ·       Successful experience with the integration of Indigenous Language and Culture;·       Commitment to, and progress toward, Truth and Reconciliation Calls to Action related to education;·       Demonstrated ability to establish respectful relationships with learners, parents, staff, and the community;  ·       A high energy level with personal attributes that include: integrity, flexibility, and dedication;·       Previous administrative experience is desirable; ·       Experience and knowledge of the B.C. K to 12 curriculum;·       Thorough understanding of effective assessment and evaluation practices;·       Knowledge and experience in inclusive education and mental health in schools;·       A fundamental belief that all learners can achieve at a high level;·       Demonstrated effective leadership during critical incidents and other stressful conditions;·       Have knowledge of and experience with training, delivery and leading initiatives pertaining to Trauma Informed Practice in support of students;·       The knowledge and ability to guide staff and students with differentiated learning strategies;·       The necessity to be confidential when dealing with sensitive issues pertaining to students and staff;·       It is desired that the teaching Principal candidate possess a graduate degree in Education, with a focus on educational leadership; curriculum and instruction; or other relevant area; and eligibility for membership in the BC Ministry of Education’s Teacher Regulation Branch. Candidates without a graduate degree will be considered provided they are willing to obtain a graduate degree.   School District No 87 offers a relocation allowance, annual personal travel allowance for the employee and dependents living with them, a substantial professional development package and an excellent benefits package (100% medical, extended health, dental and group health insurance).  Salary range for this position is $140,315 to $155,905.
