聽聽Student Services Coordinator AHTAHKAKOHP聽Ahtahkakohp School聽is accepting applications for the Student Services Coordinator position聽for the 2026-2027 School Year.Ahtahkakohp聽School聽is located on聽Ahtahkakohp Cree Nation.Required Skills and Abilities: 路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Experience teaching in First Nations education, culture and identity. 路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Possess proficient keyboarding and word-processing computer skills. 路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Ability to work as part of a team in developing educational plans for students. 路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Ability to provide professional development activities for professional and support staff. 路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Hold a valid driver's license and be willing to travel.Duties and Responsibilities The Student Services Coordinator shall perform such duties and responsibilities as may be assigned including but not restricted to the following:a)聽聽聽聽聽 Ensure there are prevention, intervention and follow-up services provided to identified students by registered Educational Psychologists or other qualified professionals.b)聽聽聽聽 Consult collaboratively with classroom teachers, special education teachers, school principals and others making up the school interdisciplinary teams in the creation, maintenance and amendment of student IEP聮s.c)聽聽聽聽聽 Upon receiving confidential reports from registered Educational Psychologists or other qualified professionals, the Student Services Coordinator shall ensure the documents are stored in an organized and secure manner that preserves the confidentiality and integrity of the reports.d)聽聽聽聽 In conjunction with school-based personnel, ensure the appropriate reports and required forms for student services, support and funding are submitted in an accurate and timely fashion to Indigenous Affairs and Northern Development Canada (INAC). e)聽聽聽聽 Advocate for the diverse needs of students and assist the school-based teams in meeting those learning needs. f)聽聽聽聽聽聽 Follow-up will include filing of reports detailing the findings of any testing and recommendations including reviewing them in a collaborative fashion with the school team including the parents/caregivers and the student where appropriate. g)聽聽聽聽聽 Provide Education Assistant (EA) training to school based EAs. 聽h)聽聽聽聽 Provide intervention services including observation and administration, where appropriate, of behavioral and reading assessments as required. i)聽聽聽聽聽聽 Provide some counseling services for students where required upon the request of school personnel or provide appropriate, timely referrals to qualified outside resources. j)聽聽聽聽聽聽 Provide referrals to other professionals and act in conjunction with them when required.k)聽聽聽聽聽 Provide follow-up to ensure recommendations by registered Educational Psychologists or other qualified professionals are implemented appropriately in school.l)聽聽聽聽聽聽 In unique or highly sensitive cases, inform the Director of Education or appropriate Superintendent of the circumstances of those cases.m)聽聽聽 Be knowledgeable and supportive of applicable Ahtahkakohp Policies & Proceduresn)聽聽聽聽 Be willing to engage in life-long learning with respect to training and professional developmento)聽聽聽聽 Conduct oneself in a manner appropriate to a professional learning environment p)聽聽聽聽 Deal tactfully with staff, students, parents and the publicq)聽聽聽聽 Perform other duties as assigned or required by the Director of Education.聽聽Judgment, Independence and Client/Peer Contact: ConfidentialityAt no time should the Student Services Coordinator discuss, in public, information pertaining to a student, staff or business operations.聽 The Student Services Coordinator is expected to respect the confidential nature of the position by avoiding discussion about any topics that are not formally communicated to the public.聽 Breaching confidentially is a serious violation of acceptable conduct.聽IndependenceThis position is expected to work independently as well as part of the team within the school. Responsibility for Quality of Assigned Work:The Student Services Coordinator is under direct supervision of the Director of Education and is responsible to achieve the quality of work as assigned by the Director.聽Qualifications:Knowledge of best practices in educational leadershipKnowledge of trends and needs in the education of students with diverse needsSaskatchewan "Professional A" teacher's certificate, who can teach in grades Pre-K-12, and who possess post-graduate classes/ certificate in Special Education and/or related teaching experienceIndependent and reliable, willingness to work as a team playerPhilosophy of First Nations Education - must be willing to learn and speak the Cree language and participate in the Cree culture and land base learningReferences (Practicum Evaluations are also acceptable) and work historyDemonstrated knowledge of Saskatchewan Curriculum and Ministry of Education initiativesProvide a recent criminal record check and vulnerable sector check聽
