Special Education Coordinator/Teacher 2026-2027 school year Little Red River Board of Education (LRRBE) is comprised of four schools located in John D'Or Prairie, Garden River, and Fox Lake, Alberta. We are the largest First Nations school system in Alberta with over 1,900 students. LRRBE schools offer many exciting and highly successful programs! Our school board has been working hard to provide our students with technology to enhance their learning such as iPads, chromebooks, and a SmartBoard in every classroom. We also provide comprehensive literacy programs such as: Read 180, System 44, Jolly Phonics, Literacy Place, and Write Crates. All schools follow the Alberta Education Curriculum enriched by the Cree language and culture of our three communities.1 Special Education Coordinator/Teacher needed John D'or Prairie Community for John D'or Prairie School Kindergarten to Grade 12, John D'or Prairie is comprised of 460 students (Kindergarten - Grade 12) in a beautiful new fully equipped school facility. John D'or Prairie is a remote community about 114 km E. of High Level, Alberta.Qualifications - Qualifications in Special Education - knowledge of the Alberta Program of Studies - a commitment to inclusive practices - training and/or successful teaching experience - effective communication and classroom management skills - ability to work as part of a team - background in Aboriginal Education is an asset We are looking for a candidate with experience working with inclusive education practices for mild to severe needs. Our special education programs consist of life skills, social skills, literacy and numeracy development and a variety of other exciting community based programs.
