POSITION:TEACHER – PROFESSIONAL COOKING (PROGRAM 5811) (2 POSITIONS)DEPARTMENT:ADULT EDUCATION AND VOCATIONAL TRAININGSALARY:FROM $46,527 TO $92,027 DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONSCOMPETITION NUMBER:TEACHAEVTPC2505-01LOCATION:QUAQTAQ AND INUKJUAKSTATUS:CONTRACTUAL 400 HOURSDURATION:  AUGUST TO DECEMBER 2025 (WITH A POSSIBILITY OF RENEWAL)Kativik Ilisarniliriniq (KI) is a school board offering educational services in the 14 communities of Nunavik. Would you like to join us for a unique and rewarding experience? PROGRAM OBJECTIVES:The Professional Cooking program prepares students to practisce the trade of professional cook. Aspiring Pprofessional cooks will acquire the knowledge, ability and attitude necessary to prepare the mise en place and work plan for service,; plan the necessary elements for smooth service,; apply hygiene, food safety, and occupational health and safety standards,; cook various foods properly,; present food in accordance with standards,; prepare, season and store hors -d’oeuvres, soups, meat, fish, vegetables, sauces, desserts and other food products, in accordance with specific procedures;, and create menus for various meals as well as table d’hôte menus, à la carte items and buffets. The Board may, at its discretion, waive any or all of the afore-mentioned qualification requirements if it finds a suitable candidate who is a beneficiary of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement and who accepts, as a condition of employment, to follow a training plan determined by the Board REQUIREMENTS:·         Fluency in two (2) of the three (3) official languages of KI (Inuktitut, English and French);·         Experience in adult education, and;·         Experience in multi-level classes. ASSETS: ·         Knowledge and teaching of the MEES programs.·         Experience in teaching English and French as a second language.·         Knowledge of the Moodle platform. CLASSIFICATION / SALARY / BENEFITS:Salary & benefits as per the Teachers Collective Agreement of the Board: from $46,527 to $92,027 annually depending on experience and qualifications.
