Summer Camp Lead

Az-Zahraa Islamic Academy (AZIA) is seeking an energetic and responsible Summer Day Camp Lead to plan, coordinate, and oversee a safe and engaging summer program for elementary-aged children. The Camp Lead will supervise staff, manage daily operations, and ensure a positive, inclusive, and well-structured camp experience.Summer camps in Canada typically involve structured group activities, supervision, and leadership of youth in a safe environment .Key ResponsibilitiesPlan and deliver a structured daily camp program (games, arts, sports, field trips)Supervise and support camp staff and volunteersEnsure the safety and well-being of all campers at all timesManage attendance, schedules, and daily logisticsCommunicate with parents and school administrationOrganize and oversee field trips and special activitiesMaintain a positive and inclusive environment aligned with school valuesEnsure compliance with safety policies and proceduresQualificationsExperience working with children (camp, school, or childcare setting)Leadership or supervisory experience preferredStrong organizational and communication skillsAbility to manage groups of children in a dynamic environmentFirst Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)Clear Criminal Record Check (vulnerable sector)PreferredBackground in education, recreation, or child/youth workExperience planning camp or group programming
