Summary About the Position: This is a Full Time Seasonal 0403 School Psychologist position for Humphreys West Elementary School, located in Camp Humphreys, South Korea. Federal employees in Camp Humphreys, South Korea are currently entitled to receive a 15% Post Allowance (COLA) in addition to the base salary. This position is covered by the Federal Education Association (FEA) bargaining unit. Department of War Education Activity (DoWEA), as one of only two Federally-operated school systems, is responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and managing prekindergarten through 12th grade educational programs on behalf of the Department of War (DoW). DoWEA is globally positioned, operating 160 accredited schools in 8 districts located in 11 foreign countries, 7 states, Guam, and Puerto Rico. DoWEA is committed to ensuring that all school-aged children of military families are provided a world-class education that prepares them for postsecondary education and/or career success and to be leading contributors in their communities as well as in our 21st century globalized society.Major Duties: Consult with staff, families, and community partners on student behavioral and psychological issues. Collaborate with school staff to develop and implement interventions for struggling students. Implement school-wide prevention programs that promote a positive and safe school climate. Counsel students individually and in groups on academic, social, and behavioral skills. Conduct psychological assessments to evaluate student needs and recommend interventions. Advise student assistance teams to develop accommodation and intervention plans. Lead professional development activities on child development, learning, and behavior management.
