The School District of Mystery Lake invites applications for the Principal position at Deerwood School. Start Date: September 8, 2026. The School District of Mystery Lake is an urban school division with 7 schools and approximately 3,000 students located in the city of Thompson, Manitoba. Qualifications/Responsibilities:• A Manitoba Teacher's Certificate or eligibility for teacher certification in the Province of Manitoba. • Master of Education Degree or equivalent, or extensive related experience as a school principal.• Evidence of successful teaching and elementary school administrative experience (principal or vice principal).• Evidence of leadership skills in curriculum implementation, programming and school climate.• Evidence of leadership skills in personnel supervision and evaluation.• Knowledge and interest in the community school concept.• A demonstrated ability to work with people in a collaborative environment.• Strong interpersonal skills, organizational skills and problem solving abilities.• Ability to work with diverse groups in order to develop a common, forward-thinking vision for the school.• Commitment to Indigenous, cross cultural and anti-racist education.Wages include one of the most generous packages in the province, and the rate of pay and administrative allowance will be determined by our current collective agreement with the Manitoba Teachers Society located on the district website.You may be eligible for a moving allowance as per Administrative Procedure 2.A.040 available on the School District of Mystery Lake website.The School District of Mystery Lake welcomes diversity in the workplace and encourages applications from all qualified candidates, including women, Indigenous peoples, people with disabilities and minorities.Applicants may request reasonable accommodations related to the materials or activities used throughout the selection process.Inquiries can be directed to Angele Bartlett, Superintendent at 204-677-6154.
