Literacy Support Teacher LRRBE 2026-2027 school year Little Red River Board of Education is comprised of four schools located in John D'Or Prairie, Garden River, and Fox Lake, Alberta and all are under the brilliant Northern Lights. We are the largest First Nations School System in Alberta. LRRBE schools offer many exciting and highly successful programs! There are SmartBoards in every classroom and we provide comprehensive literacy programs such as: Jolly Phonics, Literacy Place, and Mathletics. All schools follow the Alberta Education Curriculum enriched by the Cree language and culture of our three communities. Literacy Support TeacherFox Lake Elementary School Fox Lake Elementary School (K-6) is comprised of 300 students. Located 166 km E. of High Level, Alberta. Literacy Support Teacher is required at Little Red River Board of Education to provide and effective structured literacy experience to our students in a school collaborative working environment. Literacy is considered to be comprehensive basic reading and mathematics skills.  The applicant should have the skills and will to; Develop, plan, and prepare for literacy teaching of individual, small group and large group learning of basic reading and mathematics skills, concentrating on those behind grade level;·         Provide coaching support to individual or small groups of educators using on basic effective literacy teaching methods; ·         Lead a school emphasis on the benefits and love of reading and math literacy;·         Use LRRBE approved tests in literacy and interpret results;·         Be successful at teaching in person and on-line as required;·         Be prepared to provide and support a phonics-based literacy program;·         Participate in monthly team meetings with school administrators and literacy leaders to support schools in a systems-based effort to improve literacy outcomes;·         Communicate and work effectively with administrative team and all school staff, as well as leading and developing a group of literacy teaching assistantWe Offer Our Employees:·         Provincial School Level Salary·         Accommodations Highly Subsidized·         Free Internet and Utilities·         Twice Yearly Travel Allowance·         Returning Bonus·         Comprehensive Benefits Package and Pension Plan·         Support for New Teachers·         Yearly Educational Symposium (Edmonton)·         Professional Development and WorkshopsIf you are looking to begin your career or continue your teaching portfolio we would be happy to discuss our current openings.
