MUSKODAY FIRST NATION COMMUNITY SCHOOLInvites applications for a:  School Counsellor for the 2026-2027 School Year  Summary: MFNCS is located SE of Prince Albert.  MFNCS is Pre-K to Grade 8.  MFNCS  offers the students many opportunities for learning and has an inclusive and holistic education.  www.mfncs.org The primary duties are to provide expert, professional services in a broad range of counseling within the school setting. In addition, the successful applicant will provide ongoing public education and in-service training related to the mental health of children, youth, adults and families.Qualifications: Social Work Degree or Education Degree with counselling courses/experience All interested applicants must include three work-related references and a cover letter addressing the following points: 1) Highest Level of Education & Certificates; 2) Experience in counselling techniques; 3) Experience in counselling children and youth in a school setting; 4) Length of time working in a First Nation community; 5) Experience and success rate of leading groups of youth in various group settings; 6) Skills in the area of suicide and crisis intervention, critical incident management and     debriefing; The successful applicant will also be required to have the following: -effective communication skills, both oral and written -willingness to be part of a collaborative team- network with other departments -positive professional/personal attributes. -flexibility in the workday is necessary to perform the required duties and responsibilities. -access to a private vehicle is required and submission of a driver's Abstract. -knowledge and understanding of First Nation Communities and their culture.
